 Our littlest learners – ages 3-5, who are identified as having a speech or developmental delay, receive preschool schooling at our CP Learning

  • Center. Our two and three day

programs are specifically designed to address each student’s academic, social, and emotional needs. Our program is growing, and 2018-19 will include new personnel to ensure our youngest learners’ academic and social emotional needs are met.

 For the past six years, CPCSC has developed and grown a relationship with local private preschools who service our future kindergarten students, in order to assist and facilitate the transition to formal schooling for our youngest learners.  We appreciate our area preschools’ willingness to hold an open dialog with our administrators and kindergarten teachers, and adjust their curriculums to best meet students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.  Our most recent development is Early Childhood Academic Data Tracking Sheets. By completing these mutually developed assessments for our kindergarten teachers, a more successful transition to formal schooling can be achieved. The communication between preschool and kindergarten becomes seamless!

 Developed a community-based partnership between CPCSC in conjunction with the Rotary and Crown Point Foundation to support our future kindergarten students’ early literacy skills with funding and enrollment in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.  Currently, over 300 future CPCSC students are receiving monthly books developmentally appropriate to their age level.  Outreach to other Crown Point organizations is planned to help support and grow this literacy project for our future students.
