“EDIFY”

How am I building? What am I building? Who am I building?

• To edify means to build, build up,

encourage, increase or serve. Isaiah 57:14; Ephesians 4:11-13

• ut of the way of my people.”

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…

“… until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure

• f the fullness of Christ.”

“And I tell you that… on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

“Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

“then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
