Servicio Español para la Internacionalización de la Educación VET Validation in Spain ERASMUS+: VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport designs national qualifications (VET diplomas), defines learning outcomes, modules and assessment criteria. It is also the body responsible for the assignment of credits and the official validation and recognition of foreign qualifications . Modules of Higher Vocational Education and Training Programmes (i.e. ISCED 5B) have ECTS assigned since they are post secondary non- tertiary education. The new Basic VET and the Intermediate Vocational Education and Training Programmes (i.e. ISCED 3B) are also unit-based (modular). The units of learning outcomes may be accumulated and transferred but do not have credit points attached.
Servicio Español para la Internacionalización de la Educación ECVET in Spain ERASMUS+: VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING The Directorate General for VET of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport is the body responsible for any development in the field of IVET, as well as the National Contact Point for ECVET. Collaboration with the Technical Committee for VET in which all the regions’ representatives participate. Technical issues are also discussed, debated with the regions’ directors and employers´ organisations and trade unions representatives at the different advisory bodies existing for VET issues. The National Agency (SEPIE) is at the disposal of the Directorate General for VET and the Technical Committee for VET to support the implementation of the ECVET system.
