PROJECT TITLE: Disability Is Not An Obstacle BENEFICIARY: Down Syndrome Association Malta GRANT AWARDED: € 14,167 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This youth exchange project will involve the participation of 3 organisations from Malta, Germany and Finland. The themes of this project are: (1) equal opportunities in the employment sector; (2) leisure activities for persons with disabilities; and (3) independent living. Chapter | 3

PROJECT TITLE: Protecting The Environment Through Conservation Techniques For Future Generation BENEFICIARY: Higher Youths GRANT AWARDED: € 11,940 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project aims at increasing awareness of environmental issues and provide skills for conservation management as well as develop conservation attitudes to ensure that any research programmes and career/personal choices the youths undertake later on in life have minimal impacts on the use of resources.   5. PROJECT TITLE: Action For Nature BENEFICIARY: BirdLife Malta GRANT AWARDED: € 34,492 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The expected impact of the project is to promote respect for nature and action in the local community area to improve it for people, animals and the environment. Chapter | 5

  6. PROJECT TITLE: InterACT For Tolerance BENEFICIARY: G.F. Abela University of Malta Junior College GRANT AWARDED: € 33,437 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project aims to educate youths about democratic participation, human rights, equity (one of the objectives of the Strategic Framework – Education and Training), social inclusion (one of the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy and the European cooperation in the youth field), discrimination, cultural diversity, gender issues and conflict resolution. Chapter | 6

PROJECT TITLE: EQ in Intercultural Sensitivity: The difference that makes the difference BENEFICIARY: Salesian Oratory GRANT AWARDED: € 13,728 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Through non-formal and in-formal education, this Youth Exchange will give young people the possibility to develop a set of values, skills and competencies other than the ones developed in the framework of formal education. Chapter | 7

PROJECT TITLE: Playing Outside The Box BENEFICIARY: Ghaqda Kazini tal-Banda GRANT AWARDED: € 32,648.75 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This youth exchange will target different topics including employment and entrepreneurship, culture, integrating persons with fewer opportunities, volunteering, health, media and the opportunities that we have being European citizens. PROJECT TITLE: Heads High BENEFICIARY: Centru Tbexbix GRANT AWARDED: € 27,136.99 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The overall objectives of the project are to develop physical well-being and mental capabilities through yoga, sports, play and other activities, awaken a thirst for knowledge and love of life long learning, equip participants with skills necessary for life and for higher education.   10. PROJECT TITLE: Basic Elements BENEFICIARY: Why Not? GRANT AWARDED: € 44,211.67 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The volunteers will grow as individuals by learning new skills, meeting new people, being immersed in an alternative lifestyle that is not mainstream and contributing to building the vision we have of a society that lives in full respect of nature.   11. PROJECT TITLE: We Are Responsible BENEFICIARY: Emergency Response and Rescue Corps GRANT AWARDED: € 6,751.17 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The volunteers at ERRC will be given the opportunity to work together with other youths and share together their experience and knowledge. Chapter | 11

PROJECT TITLE: Unity In Diversity BENEFICIARY: Emergency Response and Rescue Corps GRANT AWARDED: € 26,836 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main themes of this exchange are to develop more awareness on the need for social inclusion of persons with some form of disability and those with fewer opportunities and to promote active citizenship and mutual understandings of different cultures. PROJECT TITLE: Islanders - Capitalising on Tourism to increase the employability of young people with fewer opportunities BENEFICIARY: PRISMS GRANT AWARDED: € 130,240 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will bring together young people from four islands; Malta, Azores (Portugal), Cagliari (Italy) and Crete (Greece). Through this partnership, young people will receive entrepreneurial skills with the ultimate aim of making the project self-sustainable. Chapter | 14

PROJECT TITLE: Voluntary Work - A Youth Perspective BENEFICIARY: Y Plus Association GRANT AWARDED: € 13,540 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The overall aim of this project is to suggest new policies that will increase the engagement of youths in voluntary work. The objectives of this project are derived from some of the focus objectives mentioned in the EU Youth Strategy under the heading voluntary activities. Chapter | 16

PROJECT TITLE: For a Better Democracy - Youth's Role in Politics BENEFICIARY: Marsaskala Local Council GRANT AWARDED: € 6,054 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: During this project participants will engage in various discussions about democracy and meet different experts in the field of politics that will give them a clearer idea of what it means to be directly involved in politics and how young people can make a difference. Chapter | 17
