the Nigerian Education System.

– Challenge of Access – Challenge of Quality (Graduates employability)

• The Council Trinity has challenged status quo by

establishing Trinity University (TU).

• I wish to acknowledge and congratulate the

Council of the University on this historic occasion.

• What has the Council done (less than one (1) year)?

– We have infrastructure to commence Academic activities even during the Lockdown. – An avowed commitment by TU to compete with World- class Universities within the shortest possible time. – An avowed commitment to reduce Medical Tourism (Nursing & Medical Lab. programmes) and enhance a robust International Relations among the comity of nations (InterRel programme) .

▪ Faith-based Institutions (FBIs) essentially were established to challenge status quo and steer a revolution in Education sector. ▪ Faith-based Institutions (colleges and universities):

• distinctively address social issues;
• engage in services to the local and global

communities; and

• involve students, faculty, and administrators in

this shared purpose.

▪ Trinity University is a Faith-based University and most importantly a Christian Mission University. ▪ Our testimony about you is as contained in Acts 4:13 (KJV):

Nigeria by the Times Higher Education World University Ranking in 2019.

• I worked in CU for 16 years as:

– the pioneer HoD, Computer and Information Sciences; Pioneer Director of Academic Planning and several other pioneering portfolios; and lastly, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor before joining Trinity University.

– Online Teaching is ongoing. – This is Online Orientation happening today (30/04/2020).

• Once again, I congratulate the Founders, Pioneer

Staff and students.

– T/G Seminar series. – Improved Spirituality & Discipline amongst Staff and Students. – Cultivate the Academic culture of Weekly Seminar Series.

• Directing research focus to address Societal

problems:

– Local challenges within Lagos/Yaba and environs. – Specific Issues in SDGs. – Specific Issues in African Agenda (2063).

• Your Community Service should target problematic

issues in:

– Schools, Clinics, Roads (Zebra crossing, Filling pot-holes, etc).
