  2. 02 DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE Historical Background: 1978 - Beamsville BIA was established 1978 - 2017 - Beamsville BIA was operated by a group of business people who volunteered their time to be a part of the Board. 2017 - Council dedicated $ 35K to the 2018 BIA budget to help move the strategic plan forward. 2018 - BIA hired a full - time executive director with the task of moving the BIA forward and dissecting and completing the strategic plan.

  3. 03 DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE BEAMSVILLE BIA STRATEGIC PLAN 2017-2021 (Created June 22,2017) VISION: An expanded downtown Beamsville where residents and visitors enjoy a pedestrian - friendly, vibrant, beautiful destination and gathering place, with thriving and successful businesses. MISSION: To build an exceptional downtown Beamsville by collaboratively working altogether. Four pillars were put in place within the strategic plan. Here is how having a dedicated full - time staff kick - started the strategic plan embracing the four pillars made possible because of the Town ' s financial support.

Developed working relationships & partnerships with : CAO Economic Development Community Services Clerks Planning & Development Finance Communications Two MAJOR projects to Public Works accomplish would not have been possible without the Town ' s assistance & guidance.

  6. DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE 06 Pillar Two Continued: Work with the Town & other Partners. These amazing organizations partnered with us in 2018. This does not include the dozens of Sponsors and businesses supporting us.

DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE 09 In addition to one - on - one meetings with Downtown Bench Members Pillar Four: Advocate for and Public engagement sessions, one main way we advocate, the businesses. communicate and Market is through Social Media - running 3 account types on 3 different platforms ; and a successful monthly newsletter.

  10. DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE 10 PLANNING AHEAD What are our objectives? Our 2019 budget will assist the BIA taking on more responsibility. An expanded catchment area t will require vast marketing, communications, beautification, and overall BIA support. So What is our strategy for the rest of the year? do w nto w n bench

  11. 11 DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE Expansion Passes Complete Data Base of New Businesses in the Catchment. JANUARY TO One - on - one Meetings with New Businesses. 2019 Budget Completed. MAY 2019 AGM Hosted. Increase number of Board Members from 6 - 9 - Continued Marketing 2019 Budget Ratified through Council. - Monthly Board Meetings Host a downtown clean - up ( April 23, 2019 ) - Monthly Committee Meetings 4 Committees formed: Beautification, Marketing, Events & Promotions, Finance, Governance. Draft Downtown Bench Policies & Procedures, Constitution and BIA Bylaws. Work with wineries & BDSS for more Barrels. Soliciate Vendors & Organize Farmers ' Market. Plan Community event with Town ; Lincoln Rerooted.

  12. DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE 12 More Barrels Bloom in new areas. MAY TO Host Farmers ' Market weekly Final Policies & Procedures, Constitution, SEPTEMBER and Bylaws. 2019 Host Lincoln Rerooted with TOL. Host Halloween event with TOL. - Continue Marketing Start planning Christmas Market. - Monthly Board Meetings All Committees to meet to discuss the 2020 - Monthly Committee Meetings budget requirements.

  13. 13 DOWNTOWN BENCH BE A MSVILLE Host Halloween event. OCTOBER TO Finance Meeting to determining 2020 budget. Work with Community Services on seasonal DECEMBER arrangements and lighting. Host Christmas Market. 2019 AGM 2020 Budget Ratified through Council. - Continue Marketing Apply for available Grants. - Monthly Board Meetings Receive Clerks approval on Policies & Procedures, - Monthly Committee Meetings Constitution and Bylaws.
