COUNTRY RETREAT Boarding Grooming Day Care DOGUE Country Retreat is a Boutique Hotel and Spa providing high end and intimate accommodation for small to medium dogs. The retreat sprawls across 100 acres in the picturesque Southern Highlands for guests to enjoy, romp, and relax every day. The Retreat caters to every guest’s individual needs – enjoying access to the Spa, Day Care and Grooming services. Canine guests spend their days within a carefully structured and tailored routine – lounging at our staff member’s feet by the fire, playing in the secure yards, or participating in group or individual activities that exercise their mind, body and soul. GROOMING ACADEMY Introduction to Basic Grooming Advanced Grooming & Dog Handling Grooming As a name synonymous with canine grooming excellence and unique artistry skill, the DOGUE Grooming Academy was a direct response to public demand, combined with company focus to build an in-house talent pool of groomers to increase our recruitment efficiencies and service our growing network. The very first grooming seminar was held at the DOGUE Country Retreat late 2015. The academy currently offers three grooming courses that range from Introductory to Advanced Grooming. Introduction to Grooming (3 days): introductory course – also ideal • for the person who wants to groom their own dog at home. Assistant Groomer and Day Care Handler (2 weeks): washing, • brushing, drying, nail clipping and pre-clipping. Groomer (6 weeks) - comparable to Certificate III in Companion • Animal Services - Dog Grooming: advanced grooming techniques and breed specific techniques. Our course instructors have over fifteen years practical and teaching experience. Originally trained in Japan, they apply their exceptional skill levels and fine techniques to the very busy Australian market.
