The Concept

8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA Shanghai has been awarded 2 Michelin Stars since 2017 of Michelin Guide Shanghai. This fine dining Italian Restaurant is located in one of the most exclusive locations in Shanghai, the Rockbund area, and offers unforgettable views and environment, ideal for personal and business occasions.

The Cuisine

8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA serves the finest Italian cuisine in an elegant ambience. Chef Owner Umberto Bombana and Executive Chef Riccardo La Perna, hailing from Sicily, select products from all over the world delivering outstanding Italian delicacies to the Shanghai culinary scene. Chef Riccardo comes with a baggage of impressive cooperations with top Michelin-starred chefs together with important experiences in 5 star hotels and prestigious fine dining restaurants in Italy and abroad. Riccardo’s enthusiasm and feel for outstanding Italian flavors constantly deliver tantalizing dishes.

Italian Taste

Chef Riccardo La Perna’s dishes are refined, yet rich. Aromatic with all the Mediterranean flavors that Riccardo expresses at their best. Highlights include the homemade pastas, the delicate seafood dishes and the selection of high quality, imported meats. Special Menus are designed by Chef La Perna for private events, created based on the clients’ specific requirements and accompanied by the best wine recommendations by F&B Director & Sommelier Gian Luca Fusetto.

The Wines

Our sommerlier team, Gian Luca Fusetto & Manuel Montesano are an internationally certified sommelier who worked together for almost two years. Both share with the passion and love of the wines. They create a very solid collections of international wines with mainly focus on Italian. They are always available in guiding the guests’ choice and recommending outstanding wine pairings based on the specific requirements.

Bar & Cocktails

The Bar Team at 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana runs one of the best bars in Shanghai with personalized service, unique signature cocktails and a wide selection of spirits. The bar area is warm and inviting, perfect for pre or post dinner aperitifs. The terrace is perfect to hold the event on a Spring and Summer season.

The Private Rooms

We offers all kinds of private rooms for banquets 6 to 28 guests.

Small Rooms 6 -10 guests Medium Rooms 10 - 14 guests Large Rooms 15 - 28 guests

Private Dining Charges

The Private Dining Rooms are priced based on a minimum charge that varies according to size and capacity.

For private room bookings we require a 50% deposit in advance.

Small Rooms 6-10 guests

Minimum Charge for Food RMB 10,000 + 10%

Medium Rooms 10-14 guests

Minimum Charge for Food RMB 12,000 + 10%

(Beverages & Wines per consumption)

Large Rooms 15-28 guests

Minimum Charge for Food RMB 25,000 + 10%

Private Rooms Event Set-up

The Whole Restaurant

The restaurant can be entirely booked for larger private events: Social Drinks, Intimate Dinner and Festive Celebration.

The maximum capacity for a seated dinner party is 80 guests. For the Privatization of the whole restaurant, the minimum charge is RMB 150,000 +10% all inclusive.
