Crunch Time Plan

Seniors

— As of January 8, there are 143 seniors who have still

not met their graduation requirement in reading.

— 74 of those are ESOL students, and — 20 qualify for an ESE waive, bringing our critical

number to 123.

— 33 Seniors Passed the October FCAT retake. — 23 Seniors Passed the December ACT

(we are waiting for ACT +Writing results)

Senior Reading Crunch Plan

Curriculum Crunch Plan

— Curriculum — Reading course will utilize achieve 3000 as their main curriculum to increase

lexile scores, address assessed FCAT benchmarks, and facilitate student growth in reading and responding to complex texts.

— Teachers will utilize the lesson cycle 2 times per week, allowing students to

complete a minimum of 2 activities per week.

¡ Certified ESOL teacher will push in to assist in ESOL English and Reading classrooms to

provide support.

¡ Social Worker will complete weekly classroom visits to give student support as well as

monitor attendance.

¡ Social Worker will complete home visits for all seniors not meeting graduation requirement

in reading if they miss school/class repeatedly. — Teachers new to Achieve will be trained on the use of the program the first week

• f January.

— Teachers will receive TDA’s as needed to meet with Achieve Leadership Team

every two weeks to look at student data in order to adjust instruction as necessary.

— English IV class curriculum focuses on ACT preparation, including test taking

strategies.
