Convene philanthropic stakeholders

  • Board of directors and an advisory board will be recruited from the national

corporate, private foundation, and education sectors.

  • Board recruitment will focus on individuals who are passionate about

transforming New York State through public higher education and who have a personal or professional ability to steer philanthropic dollars to the SUNY system.

EOP Fund Disbursement

  • Request for proposals (RFP) released in August 2017 to campuses with existing EOPs
  • Areas of impact for funding consideration include:
  • Evidence-based strategies towards the SUNY System’s completion goals
  • Innovative student success initiatives and strategies
  • Support for student participation in high impact activities such as international

study or internships

  • Proposal submissions will be reviewed in late 2017 and awards will be distributed in

early 2018

Communities Against Hate Grant

Open Society Foundations grant received in spring 2017 allows us to:

  • Fund diversity, equity and inclusion training at the 2017 Student Assembly

Conference.

  • Create a Communities Against Hate fund that provides compensation to SUNY

students in the wake of hate crimes or act of discriminations.

  • Collaborate with Student Affairs and other campus-based offices throughout the

system on how to address and build dialogue around hate crimes and discrimination.
