Quality Function Deployment (QFD):

 A methodology for taking the Voice of the Customer.  Used to translate customer requirements into product

specifications or design parameters.

 It is often sufficient to translate the VOC into CTQs.  A prerequisite to QFD is Market Research.

Approach:

 First, list the VOC.  Second, weight the importance of each

statement (from 1 to 10).

 Third, list the CTQs.  Forth, rate the strength of the

relationship (use the std. symbols).

 Finally, add up the weighted scores for

each CTQ to establish which should be given highest priority.
