BTSF: Animal by-products activities

  • Among the first training activities organised under

BTSF (since 2006)

  • Around 34 events involving more than 1600

participants

  • Aim = to spread knowledge and disseminate best

practices for control procedures to be applied at all stages of production, processing, distribution and destruction of ABP  Emphasis on experience sharing

  • 15 3-day workshops: 9 on ABP in Belgium/The Netherlands

(1), Germany (4) and in Slovenia (4) and 6 specific events

Main contents: EU legislation, rules of validation of processing methods, normative boundaries between public health and other relevant legislations, TSE rules, general rules on placing on the market of ABP and derived products, control of traceability, import controls of ABP materials
