The History

1845 Giosia Uboldi, a botanist, chemist and pharmacist from Viganello (Lugano) started with small amounts of oil for pharmaceutical purposes (linseed, almonds, castor and almond oil 1890 -1951 Time of industrialization, Oleificio Sabo developed the first continuously producing BIO refinery in Europe. In collaboration with Alfa Laval, SABO developed the first oil centrifuge. 2003 In Horn (TG) SABO took over the Unilever Bestfoods (Ex Sais) plant and put a new oil mill into operation. 2017 On 12 April 2017, Mr Gian Carlo Bordoni handed over the ownership of Oleificio Sabo to Messrs. Lorenzo Centonze, current CEO, and Alessandro Cavadini, company consultant, in the form of a Management BUYOUT/BUYIN.

Organic Textured Soy Protein (TSP)

This vegetarian food is made from soy flour. It is produced GMO-free from cultivation to the end-product and any contact with genetically modified soybeans is excluded. SABO soy products are characterized above all by their firmness to bite, their exceptionally good taste and their light, beautiful, golden brown color. Thanks to their capacity of absorbing water, they can be stored for a long time to save space, without losing their high nutritional value in protein and high-fiber carbohydrates.
