WHAT IS DUAL CREDIT?

  • Dual Credit allows a student to fulfill high school

graduation credits and earn college credit for the same class.

  • Should be noted:

 Dual Credit is a Blinn class, taught by Blinn faculty,

but on the Bellville High campus.

 Dual Credit classes follow the college calendar and

adhere to college policies and procedures, specifically in regards to attendance.

 Student will have a permanent college transcript.

GRADING

  • College is VERY different than high school

 No progress reports, No report cards each six weeks  One FINAL GRADE, cumulative, will be posted at the

end of the semester. This grade “as is” will appear on the student’s high school report card/transcript. The alpha grade will appear on the student’s Blinn transcript.

 The student is responsible for following course

syllabus, keeping track of grade and/or points earned during semester ...... AND keeping parents informed.

 Teacher will not speak to parents, only student.  College grades are not mailed out.
