YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE INTENT TO PURSUE DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSE FORM. It is preferred that you complete this form online, print the form, you and parent sign the form, and turn in by Monday, May 7 th . We will go over information for you first, and then you will be dismissed to return to PRIME.

LOUDOUN VALLEY’S DUAL ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST NOVA Dual Enrollment Checklist Registration Process for NOVA DE Courses Offered at Loudoun Valley High School 2018-19 Student should discuss their interest in taking DE Courses when meeting with their counselor at Loudoun Valley this spring. DE Checklist for Students: NVCC APPLICATION 1. Students must complete the NOVA application at www.nvcc.edu - APPLY NOW tab in upper right. S tudents must give both NOVA ID and their NOVA username on the INTENT TO DUAL ENROLL FORM. INTENT TO DUAL ENROLL FORM 2. Students should obtain an INTENT TO DUAL ENROLL Form from their counselor when they meet one on one to register for classes (March-May). 3. Students must return the INTENT TO DUAL ENROLL Form with all signatures (both student and parent) completed by May 7 th at end of day. 4. The counselor will complete the testing information section on this form for the student. (see next section) 5. This completed form will be sent to NVCC by the school counseling office to officially register the student into the DE course at NVCC. 6. If this completed form and testing results are not returned to the counselor by June 13, the student will not be enrolled in the DE course and will be placed in the academic level course at LV. PLACEMENT TESTING 7. Counselors will review student record for proof of college readiness in English and Math. They will check alternate testing scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT, Math SOL etc.) to see if they meet eligibility requirements -to be eligible, test scores must be within the last two academic years. 8. If a student is not able to meet proof of college readiness using their PSAT, SAT, ACT, Math SOL scores, the student will need to take the VPT (NVCC’s Placement test) . VPT should only be given to students who have no exemption through allowable scores on their PSAT, SAT, ACT, Math SOL, etc. 9. Students can take the VPT test at the NVCC Campus in Sterling. They should schedule an appointment prior to going to the Loudoun Campus. http://www.nvcc.edu/dual-enrollment/checklist.html or at some area high schools if NVCC is able to offer the test. Counselors will inform students needing the VPT of these dates if they are available at the high school. NVCC is not able to offer large test sites at the high schools, so students are informed of these testing options on an as needed basis. 10. We are in the process of attempting to secure 2 evenings in mid to late May for current sophomores needing the VPT and any remaining juniors who are unable to test at NVCC-Loudoun Campus.
