Accepting Our Current Reality

✤There is no doubt that individually, our organizations work

exceptionally well and deliver high quality service. As an EMS System, we can do better.

✤What does ‘better’ mean? Before we define ’better’ must take

into consideration, what is our current reality?

✤There are entrenched relationship issues at the administrative

level that leads to many other problems. Reality is, those issues are not going away any time soon.

✤This council has not produced anything that has had a

measurable impact on the system - let’s do something to change this.

We Will Prevail

✤Instead of deliberating over the topics that are contentious

and stifles any progress, let’s instead focus on those topics that can actually create successes.

✤How do we create something better, despite our current

reality?

✤Let’s focus on outcomes that in spite of our differences, we

can actually achieve and produce successes. Stop focusing

• n divisive issues, but issues that we can all stand behind.

✤The contentious issues can be put on the shelf for now until

this council has had some successes. These issues can also be addressed through an independent, external consultant.

exposures, safety issues, equipment changes etc.

✤ Evaluate the appropriate use of lights

Let’s use the highly effective components of our EMS system to improve the whole by focusing on universally agreed upon endeavors. Otherwise, we will remain paralyzed.
