Goals
- Promote a sense of stewardship
and commitment to our public spaces.
- Promote and educate the
public on the benefits of maintaining a clean and beautiful community.

Community Stewards Program
The Program relies on volunteers to keep our neighborhoods, trails, parks, and streets litter-free. Volunteers include businesses, individuals, organizations, and NAU student groups.

During FY2017 Stewards:
- Adopted 186 trails and avenues
- ut of 198
- Cleaned up 111 miles of trails
and avenues
- Collected over 900 bags of trash
and recycling
- 1,538 volunteers donated 3,197
hours of their time to pick up trash

Community Code Compliance
- Ensure that City Codes are upheld and complied with
- Goal is voluntary compliance
- Educate the public through outreach efforts
- 3 Staff (Manager and 2 Code Compliance Officers)
- Volunteers, Community Service Workers and Adult Probation
Work Crew assist with litter and graffiti clean-ups
- 300 Litter cases of the 1,862 total cases in 2017
- Developing Citation process for chronic violators
