MUSIC

 In Music, students will get to explore and create a wide

variety of styles of music, perform music on different instruments, and learn about different composers and

  • regions. Students will also build their knowledge of how

to read music.

 Essential Questions that will be explored:  What is the difference between music and noise?  What makes a music performance great?  How do composers and performers reach their

audiences?

 How will I use music throughout the entirety of my life?  What are my musical strengths?

VISUAL ARTS

 Students will spend the year exploring Elements and

Principles of Design.

 They will use a variety of mediums, tools, techniques, and

processes to create works of art.

 We will infuse art history in our project based lessons.  We will experiment with a variety of materials – paint,

pastels, clay, markers.

 We will learn art vocabulary (Line, Shape, Form, Value,

Line, Space, Texture) and how to use them when we talk about art.
