Schools League 2016 Presentation Event For the first time we had our Presentation Event at Talkin Tarn. The sun shone all afternoon (it was raining heavily in Penrith and much of the Eden Valley). I planned courses for the following age groups; Years 2-4 Boys, Years 2-4 Girls, Years 5/6 Boys, Years 5/6 Girls, Years 7-9 Boys and Years 7-9

  • Girls. As the League positions had already been worked out, running in age groups was a way for the

children to see how they compared with their peers. There were some very interesting results! I think that I made the secondary courses too hard for the ability of many taking part. All in all it has been a very worthwhile set of events, the children have certainly progressed and have enjoyed the challenges posed by the courses I have planned. Our thanks go to the secondary schools that provided helpers to run the events: Trinity, William Howard and Richard Rose Central. Without these young people John and I wouldn’t be able to run the league, their help is invaluable and it’s a good learning

  • pportunity for them to work with younger children. Thank you again to the many parents

who have transported children to the events and supported us.
