REGIONAL LEAGUE PODIUM FINISHES - 2016 IN THIS ISSUE
As the Rio Olympics 2016 now becomes a fading memory, children’s grassroots Triathlon competition in the eastern region is very much alive. The winners of the eastern region children’s league competition in 2016 celebrated their summer efforts by attending the end of year Bowling event and trophy celebrations. The Eastern region league is open to 8 -16 year olds who test their endurance by swimming, cycling and running with ultimate goal of winning their age category. The league positions are calculated by competitors gaining as many points as possible from five of regions events to provide an end of season point’s total in
- rder to be crowned regional
champion at the end of the season in September. The presentation event held at Freeport bowling alley in Braintree, enabling the regions athletes to enjoy a sociable event in a relaxed atmosphere and reflect on their season’s achievements. Triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in the country at the present time and all at Triathlon Eastern region hope that the competition in its current league format continues to grow to inspire more young people to take up this fantastic sport.
