Conserve and enhance the natural and built environment, historic landscape and bio-diversity

The Old Royal Cetinje Montenegro's capital city from the 15th century until 1946 is an important cultural, religious and historical centre for Montenegrins, with harmonious architecture, best observed in its museums that are amongst the richest in the country. The beautiful Old Royal Cetinje is fast emerging as the Montenegro heritage and cultural centre, due to its Universities
For the first time two town parks were built, near King Nikolas palace, in the period between 1891.-1984. They were shaped in a way that, even today, they represent the most important projects when it comes to landscape architecture The Njegos Park and the Park of 13 July, in addition to the Bishop’s Garden, Summer Theatre, the Old Stadium and the slopes of Orlov krs, constitute an inseparable segment of the existing monumental and environmental values and an integral part of the historic center. Project task is refurbishment of two parks, preservation of its beauties and introduction of new facilities, cultural events and contents in the heart of the beautiful Old Royal Cetinje where

Conclusion on the current state of parks Palace park (today’s Park of Njegoš) and City park (today’s Park 13th July) take up an area of 7 ha. They are separated with The street of Njegoš and are inseparable part of the historical town center of Cetinje.

EXISTING STRUCTURES
There are existing structures of the wells inside the park. The current forms will be kept, cleaned and coated with stones, modelled the same way as a well in the southern part of the park, while the well in the courtyard of the former English embassy will be preserved with added proper lighting.

TENNIS COURT Existing tennis court has to be kept as per Detailed Urban Plan “Historical core”, but it will be moved from its original position, because of reconstruction of the walking directions inside the park. Geometry of the pathways has to be established for appropriate access to the all functions and activities in Njegos park.

BILLBOARDS
BILLBOARDS for the open space exhibition will be positioned from North to the South gate of Njegoš park. They should be placed in a line with the longest pathway in the park, with trilateral plinths, metal frame and dark grey pedestal. In total 17 pieces, dimensions 110/75 cm. The purpose of these billboards is an open space exhibition. Billboards will be exposed only during the exhibition time, and after this, they will be kept at the storage of Municipality or Art Academy building storage.

OPEN SPACE FOR PAINTING WORKSHOPS Area along the pathway from the North to the South gate of Njegoš park is designed to be painting courses and photography area. That would activate Art Academy during the sumertime and it would increase touristic atractions in Cetinje and Montenegro.

LITERARY CORNER Central area of the park is for literary events, recitations and promotions of the new publications during the summer time, that would expand and bring new touristic events of Cetinje and Montenegro.
Highlighting the literary creation Literary evenings can be thematic Petar II Petrović Njegoš (1813-1851) is the greatest poet in the literatur in this region. His literary work is far beyond his environment and his time, he is placed in the order of the great writers of world literature. Sima Milutinović-from Sarajevo(1791-1847) was living few years in Cetinje, and he was a teacher of Njegoš. Stevan Perović Cuca (1830-1857), poet Mirko Petrović (1820-1867), poet Poet Stevan Kaćanski ( 1830-1900), And Petrović ( 1841-1921), author of many lyrical poems Simo Matavulj (1852-1908) Laza Kostić (1841-1909) And many others The students of the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje can read passages from parts of modern and prominent Montenegrin poets.

RAMPS FOR DISABLED PERSONS Two ramps for disabled persons are planned in the park. This way this park is accessible to everyone on every park entrance .

During the preparation of the landscape design of this park,
its previous spirit, where the park was created in the French style. French gardens are by tradition, regular. Design of French gardens (jardin à la française) is a formal, neat style gardening with lots of straight, geometric lines and strong symmetry. The main element of the French garden is parterre and the main perspective. The focus
which paths radiate beyond, creating a long, axial views.

Existing gloriette will be coated with white stone and will be covered with construction that will provide appropriate place for open space concerts. Here will be hold the concerts of Music Academy of Cetinje and other performers.

ICE SKATING RINK
In central area of the park will be placed ice skating rink during the winter regime usage, from December 1st until March 31st. It will be assembly construction with diameter of 20m, total area 314 sqm, all in natural ice. Around ice skating rink it was planned temporary wooden fence, that will be removed after the winter period. Ice skating season would be from December until the end of March, while the temperature is below 15oC . .

The fence of the ice skating rink is from vertical box shape profiles, dimensions 50x50x3 mm, which are placed on the recessed anchor plates in smooth concrete at a distance of 1.2m, height 1.2m. For vertical piles installed using screws cross box sections used for fixing wooden planks. Cross sections are 30x40mm in size, while the pile width 12-15mm thickness of 15-20mm. Complete fence after the end of winter regime usage must be removed.

CHILDREN'S PUPPET THEATRE The central part of the park is planned for summer regime for a period of May 1st until August 31st with set the stage structures which would be mounting removable character , 20m in diameter, measuring 314sqm, with purpose for puppet shows and other children's shows.

Planned is a new basketball playground – half the size of basketball court, concrete surface covered with polyurethane. Dimensions are 13,95x15m total area of 209,25sqm, with one backboard and basket.

Planned is a playground within the green plots in the southern part of the park. It is suggested that surface of compacted sand tiniest fraction or rubber plate with active elements of the field that are educational and creative character. The playing field has shape of a circle 20m diameter area 314sqm.

In the southern part of the park is planning to set up chess in the open field with stone slabs in two contrasting colors, size 60x60cm separate board with space to accommodate large pieces. Parking for bikes will be set up next to a children's playground and a basketball court. Metal construction is anchored to the concrete floor, according to the manufacturer's instructions.

It is anticipated new furniture benches made of wrought iron dark gray with a simple frame of wrought iron, compared to one in Njegoš with wooden planks colored varnished wood varnish Satin Luster. Planned are also the new garbage cans styled wrought iron dark gray Poles and lamps for park lighting are similar to pole that was set in front of the Biljarda in Njegoševa street, only in this case with a lamp in a dark gray color.

Poles and lamps for Park lighting are similar to pole that was set in front of the Biljarda in Njegoševa street, only in this case with a lamp in a dark gray color. The selected lamp "Isla" is representative of a new concept of urban lighting in which the absolute priority subjective comfort of the citizens. The lamp is a metal halide light sources. It was designed by the world designers and perfectly fits into any type of urban environment, and creates a comfortable environment, both in the day and in the night time. It can be equipped with sodium and halogen lamps up to 150W.

crossroads in the middle of the park. English style in the design of green spaces is committed to the application of organic and natural forms that mimic natural resources. English natural parks are based on the approximation of nature, there is no use of strict geometric form and symmetry, and apply organic forms. The most characteristic feature of the English park is its vividness, imagery, ie. setting compositions based on the principle of landscape paintings, where scenery elements form a park, center, front and rear plan and are observed with certain points.
