  19. P1 Registration – Phases (Based on 2013 info on MOE Website) • Phases 1 and 2 – for children who are Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents • Phase 3 – primarily for children who are not Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

P1 Registration – Phases • Phases 1 – sibling phase (sibling currently studying in the school) • Phase 2A (1) – child whose parent is an alumni member / member of the School Advisory Committee • Phase 2A (2) – child whose parent or sibling has studied in the school / child whose parent is a member of staff

P1 Registration – Phases • Phases 2B – child whose parent is endorsed as an active community leader for Cedar Primary School, • Phase 2C & 2C supplementary – children eligible for Primary 1 the following year and not registered in a school yet. N.B. Balloting by distance can take place in Phase 2C. Starting from the 2014 P1 Registration Exercise, MOE will reserve 40 places in every primary school for registrants in Phase 2B and 2C to ensure continued open access to all primary schools.

  22. P1 Registration – Phases • Phases 3 – some schools do not offer places during this phase as they have filled up their vacancies Cedar Primary School had no vacancies left for Phase 3 in 2012, 2013 and 2014

Helping your child experience early success Understanding your child and his / her needs through the years: • Primary 1: adjustment issues  parents are their heroes • Primary 2-4: settled in  parents are their idols / friends • Primary 5-6: onset of puberty, preparing for PSLE, pressures to perform well  parents are naggy
