  10. Facilitation of match-making and technical assistance In October 2010, the 1540 Committee adopted revised procedures to rationalize, improve and accelerate responses to assistance requests and facilitate match-making. Assistance requests received by the Committee are distributed to potential assistance providers within one week after it was received by the Committee. The 1540 Committee experts conduct informal match-making on advice of the requesting State. Possible tools for States considering requesting assistance: � Visit (of the 1540 Committee / experts) � Use of assistance templates � Action plans or other information submitted to the 1540 Committee 1540 Committee assistance webpage: www.un.org/sc/1540/assistance.shtml

Facilitation of match-making and technical assistance � Complementarity of the clearinghouse function of the 1540 Committee with other assistance and capacity-building mechanisms � States have at their disposal several channels to convey assistance requests � States might choose one channel to convey a request instead of another in light of the nature of assistance needed, or for any other consideration � Continuous dialogue between assistance providers
