Coast Dairies – Past, Present + Future

  • Coast Dairies was privately owned and managed as a

dairy farm for decades

  • The land (5,800 acres) is now publicly owned by BLM,

with strong development restrictions and resource protections in place thanks to county leaders and north coast residents

  • The Trust for Public Land deeded the property to BLM for

the purpose of opening it for public enjoyment and stewarding the resources

  • As a National Monument, Coast Dairies will be recognized

by the federal government and managed in perpetuity as a national conservation priority

meaningful opportunities to experience and enjoy this special landscape

  • To

foster increased community engagement and collaboration in support of good stewardship

  • To attract increased funding and other resources for

interpretation, stewardship,

  • utdoor

education for schools, and public enjoyment of the land

conservation priority as part of our country’s National Conservation Lands
