♦ Students residing on campus must choose a meal plan with their Housing Plan. Select meal plans include a “Declining Balance” (DB) which are like dollars or point values to be used in addition to meal plan swipes. Cajun Cash is a voluntary account available on the Cajun Card in which any student or employee of the University can deposit money on the card and make purchases at selected Cajun Cash locations on and off-campus. ♦ DB can be used at any of the retail dining outlets on campus that are operated by UL Lafayette Dining Services. Cajun Cash can be used at all dining outlets plus more (see earlier slides). ♦ Declining balance purchases are TAX FREE (you pay tax when purchasing the meal plan itself). Cajun Cash purchases are TAXED. ♦ Both Declining balance Cajun Cash will carry forward each semester as long as they are registered. Students have up to 90 days to request a refund once they leave the University (graduate/transfer/resign). ♦ You can always add additional declining balance throughout the semester in increments of $25.00, by visiting UL Lafayette Dining Services’ website, http://ULLafayette.sodexomyway.com/shop. At any time, you may deposit any amount of Cajun Cash through the Cajun Card website, http://cajuncard.louisiana.edu. (Please note: there are no additional fees charges when purchasing DB or depositing Cajun Cash online.) ♦ Students with meal plans should always make sure to tell the cashier what form of payment he/she is using and get his/her receipt after payment. Receipts will show balance after purchase. ♦ Meal Plans and DB balances can be checked the same way as Cajun Cash on the Cajun Card website.

*Note: All UL Lafayette Dining locations accept credit cards, cash, declining balance, and Cajun Cash.*
