Why we are here • Seeking Board approval for additional authorized project allocation • The current Link Light Rail underground radio system is at end- of-life with no existing support options and uplift proposals have exceeded the budget request. • These funds will be entirely offset and the overall agency budget is not increased. 2
Why do we need the funds • Reliable Operations • Emergency responders • Radio is a vital safety system 3
When will the work be delivered • With Notice to Proceed, anticipate starting construction in September 2020 • Construction will comply with COVID-19 safety protocols • Project completion anticipated in December 2020 4
