Chinese Immersion Expansion to Middle Years • Chinese Immersion program continuity will be provided at the neighborhood middle school, Greenbelt Middle* • 6th grade continuity will be provided at Paint Branch Elementary until the new William Wirt and Adelphi Area middle schools are ready, after which 6th grade will move to Greenbelt Middle • 7th grade continuity begins at Greenbelt Middle in fall 2021 • Providing continuity has no material impact on enrollment at Greenbelt Middle *Immersion Task Force Recommendation PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS • www.pgcps.org 9

Spanish Immersion Expansion to Middle Years • Middle years continuity will be provided at a single, central location, Kettering Middle* • 6th-graders will be assigned to Kettering Middle for fall 2020 • Kettering Middle does not have sufficient open seats to accommodate the Spanish Immersion program; therefore, its neighborhood boundary must be adjusted • Enrollment at Kettering Middle will be approximately 60% neighborhood/40% Immersion once fully phased-in *Immersion Task Force Recommendation PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS • www.pgcps.org 10

Minor Boundary Adjustments • Minor boundary adjustments may be implemented to streamline assignment patterns or fix address assignments that do not materially impact facility utilization and transportation • The following minor boundary adjustments are proposed for fall 2020: – Assign Greenbelt Station to Greenbelt Elementary for grades K–5 and Eleanor Roosevelt High for grades 9–12 (<20 students) – Assign the portion of Paint Branch Elementary that feeds into Hyattsville Middle to Greenbelt Middle for grades 7–8 (<5 students) PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS • www.pgcps.org 14
