ABOUT THE DOCUMENT The hosting rights of the following ITTF-Africa events from 2018 - 2020 are now available and open for application: • 2018 ITTF-Africa Cup • 2018 ITTF-Africa Championships • 2018 ITTF-Africa Junior Championships • 2019 ITTF-Africa Cup • 2019 ITTF-Africa Junior Championships • 2020 ITTF-Africa Cup • 2020 ITTF-Africa Championships • 2020 ITTF-Africa Olympic Qualifjcation Tournament • 2020 ITTF-Africa Junior Championships These top continental events are sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation and ITTF-Africa, and will be a valuable addition to your sporting calendar for the year. We would like to invite all interested cities and organisations to bid for the hosting rights of each individual event. With legacy and logistical considerations, bids for multiple events and/or multiple years are welcome . In this document you will fjnd out more information on the history of the events and brief hosting requirements.   7. ITTF-Africa Cup ITTF-Africa Cup The ITTF-Africa Cup is an annual event, which alternates between the Africa Senior Cup and the Africa Top 16. The event consists of Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles event, where the Champions will have the honour of representing Africa in the ITTF Men’s / Women’s World Cup. The ITTF Men’s World Cup and Women’s World Cup are World Title invitational events, considered one of the “Grand Slams” of Table Tennis. 20 top players from around the world are invited to the annual events through the continental qualifjcations. Event Duration: 3 Days TV Production required: Minimum 1 day, 5-camera production Estimated Participation: Approx. 40 participants and offjcials The ITTF-Africa Cup / Top 16 Cup will be held in: 2018, 2019, 2020 Page 7

  8. ITTF-Africa Championships ITTF-Africa Championships The ITTF-Africa Championships consists of Teams and Individual events. The Winning Team also qualifjes for the biennial ITTF World Team Cup representing Africa. The ITTF World Team Cup is the World Title invitational Team event held once every 2 years, when the World Team Championships are not held. The top 12 Men’s and Women’s teams from around the world are invited to this exclusive event, qualifying through their respective continental Championships. Event Duration: 7 Days Estimated Participation: Approx. 150 participants and offjcials The ITTF-Africa Championships will be held in: 2018, 2020 Page 8

ITTF-Africa Olympic Qualifjcation Tournament ITTF-Africa Olympic Qualifjcation Tournament The ITTF-Africa Olympic Qualifjcation Tournament sees athletes from African countries striving to qualify for the Table Tennis Singles Events at the Summer Olympic Games. The next Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo in 2020. The Olympic Games need no introduction as one of the greatest sporting event in the world, and it is one of the highest sporting honour and achievement for an athlete to represent their country in the Olympic Games. Event Duration: 3 Day Estimated Participation: Approx. 40 participants and offjcials TV Production: minimum 1 day, 5-camera production The ITTF-Africa Olympic Games Qualifjcation Tournament will be held in: 2020 Page 9

ITTF-Africa Junior Championships ITTF-Africa Junior Championships The ITTF-Africa Junior Championships are an annual event and provide an opportunity to see the future stars of table tennis in Africa. The athletes compete in both Junior (U18) and Cadet (U15) events – Boy’s Team, Girl’s Team, Boy’s Singles, Girl’s Singles, Boy’s Doubles, Girl’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, making a total of 14 events. The event has additional prestige with the results from the Junior Team events determining the continental qualifjcation for the ITTF World Junior Championships, and the Cadet Singles event acting as the qualifjcation for Team Africa at the ITTF World Cadet Challenge. Event Duration: 7 Days TV Production required: Minimum 1 day, 5-camera production Estimated Participation: Approx. 120 participants and offjcials The ITTF-Africa Junior Championships will be held in: 2018, 2019, 2020 Page 10

APPLICATION PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS To ensure a high standard for these top continental events held in Africa, the ITTF and ITTF-Africa are seeking hosting cities/nations/organisations that have the dedication and expertise to organise the events. Please contact Mr. Khaled El-Salhy (khsalhy@gmail.com) or Mr. Michael Brown (mbrown@ittfmail.com) for the detailed bid document , which will require the submission of the following information, in as much detail as possible: - Proposed date - Event Venue - Location - Spectator capacity - Venue layout - Internet capacity - AV system availability - Hospitality and transportation plan - Expected participation - Marketing plans - Publicity and promotion - Ticketing - Sponsorship - Estimated crowd - Event entertainment - TV Production and broadcast - Impact of event - Contact details Page 12

TV PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum TV Production: Semi Finals to Finals Minimum number of Cameras: 5, including main camera Commentators TV Graphics TV Production is compulsary for ITTF-Africa Cup & Olympic Qualifjcation Tournament. For all other events, it is not compulsary but including TV Production will greatly boost the bid. The detailed TV Production guidelines will be sent on request. Page 15
