  2. AVS Updates • Two more training sessions are scheduled for next week • All staff who determine Medicaid financial eligibility will need to complete the training • Training is January 8 th at 9am and January 10 th at 1pm • The training announcement went out on December 26th

  3. AVS Updates, continued • AVS went live yesterday • All new applications need to be processed through AVS if you have completed training • February renewals will be processed through AVS early this month. • Intake interviews can be completed before or after the AVS results come in.

Documentation reminders AVS Portal • Case name is the consumer’s name, i.e., LAST, FIRST • Registry number is the SSN without dashes • The Application Date is the first of the month of Date of Request • The CIN line should contain the Prime number • For homeless consumers, the street address is entered as “TEMP” • You only need to add your district and branch, not the unit or worker

  5. Documentation reminders, cont’d Oregon Access Narrative • Narrate “AVS requested” on the date you send a request to AVS. • The narrative entry will depend on the results. Slides 57-59 of the AVS Training (in Staff Tools) outline the different scenarios. • When the consumer is eligible, narrate: “AVS response received. AVS reflects that applicant/recipient is within the OSIPM resource limit.” • Oregon Access tabs should indicate any accounts, reported or unreported.

AVS Informational Flyer Asset Verification Service (AVS) for Medicaid Recipients Beginning in January 2019, Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) and Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) offices will use an electronic Asset Verification Service (AVS) to verify financial resources for Medicaid recipients. This r esource verification is through a secure web-based portal that retrieves information from banking institutions and real property records nationwide.
