  2. What is Dual Enrollment? Dual Enrollment and Early Admissions provides the opportunity to take college classes (for free!), earn college credit toward an Associate Degree, AND earn high school credit toward your graduation requirements

  3. GPA Requirements Unweighted GPA (Grade Point Average) Sophomores 3.5 Juniors & Seniors 3.0 School Counselor required to confirm GPA

  4. Test Score Requirements Students can submit either ACT, SAT, or PERT scores to qualify for college classes SAT ACT PERT 24 Reading 19 Reading 106 Reading 25 Writing/Language 17 English 103 Writing 24/28.5 Math 23/19 Math 123/114 Math

Test Scores ▶ You can combine multiple attempts on the same exam ▶ Students can take the PERT (Postsecondary Education Readiness Test) once per semester ▶ Remediation must occur before next attempt ▶ Scores must be current within two years of registration ▶ All test scores must be at college level to continue classes after 12 credit hours ▶ PRACTICE BEFORE TAKING THE TEST

  6. How do I get started?

  7. PERT Testing at Baker FSW will be giving the PERT at Baker on March 15 ▶ Sign ups will be in Student Services starting tomorrow, February 22. ▶ Space is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis ▶ You must have an application submitted to FSW by tomorrow, February 22.

  8. You’re Eligible… now what?

  9. The Registration Process Registration opens March 16 (tentatively)

The Registration Process Most students work toward earning their Associate's of Arts in General Education ▶ These are the courses that most successfully transfer to other colleges and universities Students will decide how many and what kind of courses they want to take ▶ Students can pick up a copy of the AA General Education Degree Plan in Mrs. d’Albenas’ office

The Registration Process Students will meet with Mrs. d’Albenas to discuss class choices, scheduling, etc. ▶ Directions for looking up classes will be emailed out to students ▶ Students will be asked to attempt to build their own schedule first ▶ If students have any difficulty, they can see Mrs. d’Albenas for assistance

  13. The Registration Process Students will bring a printout or screenshot of their Planning Worksheet to Mrs. d’Albenas to pick up a registration form

The Registration Process Students will pick up a blue registration form from Mrs. d’Albenas ▶ GPA and test scores will be verified ▶ Courses/times will be approved Students will be responsible for taking the blue registration form to FSW to get registered ▶ This step is crucial and is the student’s responsibility ▶ Failure to complete this step will result in the student not being registered for FSW courses

  15. You’re Registered… Now what?

  16. The Registration Process Once registered, students will bring Mrs. d’Albenas a copy of their FSW schedule ▶ Baker schedule will be adjusted ▶ Students must turn in a copy of their FSW schedule before May 18.

  17. The Registration Process Students may only make adjustments until the end of the add/drop period of the semester ▶ Any requests to drop courses after the add/drop period must be approved by the School District ▶ Add/Drop for the Fall 2018 semester ends TBD

Textbooks Baker will order textbooks based on schedules received by May 18 ▶ Textbooks are provided by the School District ▶ Any delay in receiving your FSW schedule or any changes made to your schedule after May 18 WILL result in a delay in receiving your textbooks ▶ Textbooks must be returned as soon as the semester is over

Textbooks Students must compare the textbooks that are received to their syllabus IMMEDIATELY upon receipt Professors report their “Required Materials” to the FSW ▶ bookstores The School District uses this information to order the appropriate ▶ textbook Sometimes, the professors change their materials and do not ▶ inform the bookstores If you receive the incorrect materials, you must email Mrs. ▶ d’Albenas immediately with a screenshot of the syllabus where it states the correct “Required Materials” A new textbook will be supplied as quickly as possible ▶

  20. Do Well Grades are important ▶ You are starting your permanent college transcript ▶ Ask for help when needed ▶ Know your resources… at Baker AND at FSW ▶ Stay organized and focused

New for ALL Students! ▶ NEW Dual Enrollment Student and Parent Information and Agreement ▶ Each item must be reviewed and initialed by student and parent ▶ Agreement needs to include Signatures, Email Addresses, and Cell Numbers for Students AND Parents ▶ Agreement must be turned in before student will be permitted to begin Dual Enrollment ▶ Students will not be permitted to PERT test or register for Fall classes if the Agreement has not been received
