  2. Our remit Represent fi nancial market participants based in France Identify the most appropriate regulatory solutions at domestic, European and international levels Financial market activities are conducted in a stringent framework that is becoming steadily more demanding. AMAFI makes an active contribution to this framework by seeking solutions that foster market activities while meeting regulatory objectives, and by ensuring that the industry is not unduly restricted. Financial standards are set chiefl y at European level but are still supervised and enforced at domestic level. With this in mind, and given the increasingly prominent role of international bodies such as the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), AMAFI carries out its actions at the national, European and global levels. Major reforms have been underway since 2009 at the urging of the G20 to tackle the fi nancial crisis. AMAFI published its own analysis of the crisis in 2008 and put forward proposals for reforming the world fi nancial system. In 2011 we published a contribution to the G20’s work on commodity derivatives regulation, and more broadly, provided input for debate on issues such as short selling, remuneration, market structure, fi nancial transaction tax… A driving force on the European and international stage 2007, AMAFI sets up the European Forum of Securities Associations (EFSA). with its European partners and joins the Futures Industry Association (FIA). 2005, AMAFI becomes an affi liate member of IOSCO. 1989, AMAFI is a founder member of the International Council of Securities Associations (ICSA), a forum that promotes global cooperation among fi nancial market professionals.
