2017-18

  • Program designed to increase the number of underrepresented students who enroll in

AP/IB classes by reversing the trend of inequitable participation in AP/IB.

  • A proactive, high quality and focused advocacy by adults on behalf of students to

increase AP/IB access, while also ensuring that students succeed once they enroll.

  • Changing school’s culture and creating equitable opportunities that reflect the

demographics of each high school.

  • Opportunity for students to build meaningful relationships with advocating adults who

will help them align their coursework with their educational and professional goals.

– Establish a site Equity Team and coordinator – Develop an Outreach Plan – Implement a staff and student survey – Provide a site Equity Pathway Report – Develop “Student Insight Cards” – Monitor student course registrations – Identify and train advocates (trusted adults) for outreach conversations – Monitor progress while advocates conduct outreach
