  1. ACE Alternative Classroom Education An alternative to out of school suspensions serving PCS students in grades 6-12 who have received a 1-3 day suspension.

  2. 3 PCS locations  North County - Clearwater Intermediate S chool  Mid County – Bayside High S chool  South County – Pinellas Technical College, S t. Pete

  3. ACE Staffing model 1 certified teacher & 1 paraprofessional at each site to be selected and employed by the site principal.

  4. ACE program costs  Average S alary Estimate:  Teachers – S alary including benefits $67,185.72 X 3 = $201,557.16  Paraprofessionals – S alary including benefits $29,332.44 X 3 = $87,997.32  Grand Total $289,554.48

  5. Additional Resources  School Counselor – Will meet with students to discuss situation and better choices.  Food Services – Will be provided by the school.  SRO – On campus if needed.  Student Computers – 5 will be provided by TIS for each site.  Textbooks and Instructional Materials – Teaching and Learning will provide curriculum and materials needed for all core subj ects at each grade level. (S tudents may also bring assignments from their zoned schools)  Parent Agreement – Each student’s parent will be required to sign an ACE Program Participation Form as well as provide emergency information (i.e. clinic card info and current contact numbers), transportation to and from the site, and agree to pick up their student from the program during the day, if necessary due to illness, behavior, etc.

  6. Timeline  Middle and high school principals will receive detailed information regarding the ACE program at the Leadership eptember 1 st . Additional training will be Meeting on S provided during the school year, as needed.  Counselors will be trained to serve as Reintegration Coordinators during DWT on August 3 rd and receive on- going training throughout the school year during their regularly scheduled counselor meetings.
