Consultation questionnaire - some statistics:-

– 630 Questionnaires delivered to occupied dwellings within the Neighbourhood Plan area – 423 completed returns (68%) – Plus 59 completed returns of the young persons questionnaire (also consultation via Houghton School) – Results represent the views of over 800 people from a population of just over 1500 Also: – Stakeholder consultation held in April – Evidence Base ..National & Local statistics

  • 41% of population is over 55 (compared with

28% for HDC as a whole). Houghton is top.

  • 32% of householders are pensioner - only

(compared with 23% for HDC as a whole)

  • 61% of households have at least 2 more

bedrooms than required, well above the District figure of 49%.
