Dental Screening I owa law requires that any student entering kindergarten or ninth grade must provide the school with proof of a dental check-up. ฀The certificate of dental screening form will be sent home in the spring with the registration packets, and should be returned to the School Nurse next school year. The dental screening must have been within the previous 12 months of entering the ninth grade. ฀ If you have questions or need help getting a dental check-up for your child, please contact the school nurse Whitney Overton.

Graduation Requirements Department/Course (* Courses you will take as Number of Credits Required for Graduations part of 9th grade) (Equivalent to:) *English 4.0 Credits (8 Semesters) *Mathematics 3.0 Credits (6 Semesters) *Science 3.0 Credits (6 Semesters) *Social Studies 3.5 Credits (7 Semesters) *P.E. 1.0 Credit (8 Semesters) Health 0.5 Credit (1 Semester) Financial Literacy 0.5 Credit (1 Semester) *Elective 8.5 Credits Total Credits Required for Graduation 24 Credits

  10. English ● — 4 Credits required for graduation ● — All 9 th graders take Freshman English or Advanced Freshman English ● Highly motivated 8th graders who have strong foundations as writers and are independent thinkers should consider Advanced Freshman English

  11. Science ● ฀3 Credits required for graduation ● ฀All 9 th graders take Earth Science and Physical Science or Chemistry ● Students currently taking 8th Grade Science will take Earth and Physical Science while Accelerated Science students will take Chemistry.

  12. Social Studies ● ฀3.5 Credits required for graduation ● ฀All 9 th graders take Topics of History for 1 semester PE ● ฀1 Credit required for graduation ● Each semester of PE is worth .125 credits

  13. World Language ● World Language options for 9th graders are French I, French II, Spanish I and Spanish II ● There is no graduation requirement for World Language but most colleges will require at least two years for admission
