  • Educating pupil at primary schools in wards.
  • Propagandizing on environment protection and knowledge on source

separation, etc.

  • Organizing workshops, meetings, exhibitions to popularize for the

project.

  • There are two kind of

  • Two separated color dustbin

(green and orange)

  • Dustbins only placed at

station at regulated time

Advantage of waste collection by dustbin at transfer station: Time for waste collection lasts longer, up to 2,5 hours. This is easier for people

  • Waste thrown into dustbin sanitary. Assure urban landscape

OUTPUT OF PROJECT AFTER THREE YEAR OF IMPLEMENTATION

 Implementing source separation model successfully to collect

  • rganic waste for compost, promoting recycling.

 Improving organic waste produce process, environmental sanitation

and saving operation cost for Cau Dien factory.

 Implementing activities on communication and education on

environment in 4 pilot wards, people’s awareness enhanced, people cooperate and participate source separation activities actively.

 Attracting people to participate Mottainai movement, shaping saving

awareness for people.

 Movements on nylon use reduction carried out through project,

promoting usage of ecological package for environmental protection.

slide-30
SLIDE 30
  • Some places are still facing with

difficulties in propaganda due to people’s awareness

  • Lack
  • f

cooperation from enterprises (they are not under control of street block or ward)

  • In pilot wards, with large area,

many markets, high density with different kind of people, people’s awareness is still low, this cause difficulty for project maintenance

  • Promoting

propaganda at each household through head of block and member

  • f

women union

  • Keeping

check, remind and counting mark for competition in each block

DIFFICULTIES AND SOLUTIONS

slide-31
SLIDE 31

 The project needs paying attention from authorities,

responsibility should be defined clearly.

 Practically, closely cooperation among authorities, mass-

  • rganizations, street blocks play important role for success
  • f project.

 There should have budget to maintain source separation,

have support mechanism for 3R collaborator.
