Year of schooling Aligned to Year 11 Curriculum SACE Stage 1 and Stage 2 subjects Subjects studied

  • Minimum of 100 SACE credits
  • Compulsory subjects are:
  • Stage 1 Research Practices (10 credits)
  • Stage 2 Research Project (10 credits)
  • Five to six other subjects are selected. A combination of Stage 1 and Stage 2 courses.
  • It is recommended that no more than three Stage 2 courses are studied. (This includes

Research Project.)

  • Stage 2 English subjects cannot be completed in 4th Year. If planning on completing Stage

2 English or Stage 2 Literary Studies in their 5th Year, students are recommended to select at least one semester of the alternative Stage 1 English course studied in their 3rd

  • Year. This is to ensure continued development of skills.
  • One to two study lines.

Course counselling tips

  • 1. Use pencil on the form. Draw a line through subjects not

interested in, circle possible subjects, rank those circled etc.

  • 2. Complete the SACE planner and view the one completed last

year.

  • 3. Make use of the SACE website. View the course descriptions,

the performance standards, assessment requirements and exemplar work.

  • 4. Make use of the APHS on-line curriculum handbook.
  • 5. Contact the IGNITE team and subject leaders if you have any

queries.
