KEY POINTS Oil concentrations in Port Valdez: • mussels are low, practically non-detectable • sediments are low, but still show signs of the Valdez Marine Terminal • water column are low, below any known toxic levels for marine organisms Current overall low trends are based on a number of factors: • reductions in oily ballast water deliveries • efficient operation of the Ballast Water Treatment Facility
