  • Provide equitable course offerings
  • Utilize student transportation resources effectively
  • Increase state-funded units
  • Clear transitions from elementary to middle to high
  • Provide longitudinal programs

Best Practices

  • Establish a common feeder pattern throughout the District.
  • Endeavor to zone entire neighborhoods to the same school(s).
  • Consider students’ proximity to a campus and promote safe and reasonable walking

zones.

  • Utilize student transportation resources effectively.
  • Utilize natural and man-made elements as boundaries, i.e. railways, highways, streams.
  • Utilize projected student enrollment and capacity to ensure maximum facility usage.
  • Consider fiscal impact and minimize future capital and operational budget costs.
  • Maintain diverse populations.
  • Consider anticipated construction and residential growth within the community.
