How can attendance affect progress? Look at Progress 8 score & average GCSE grades

Anything above 0 is positive and above 0.5 outstanding progress which is

  • ver half a grade on average better than targets across all subjects

0 - +0.5 Good & + 0.5 and above outstanding

Anything below 0 is negative and below -0.5 is very concerning and shows target grades not achieved in many subjects

  • 0 and below

2 Different routes:

  • Combined sciences (triology):

Students will study all three disciplines across the two

  • years. This will culminate in 6 exams (2 in each discipline)

and students can end year 11 with 2 science GCSEs.

  • Separate Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics):

Students will have separate lessons and teachers for each discipline covering slightly more material in more depth than those in combined. This will culminate in 6 exams (2 in each discipline) and students can end year 11 with 3 GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
