2011 – 2012 Prince George Neighbourhood Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Sampling Program

• Collected 12 VOC samples from May 2011

– June 2012 during odour events

• 194 volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

measured

• No screening levels for VOCs in BC, used

levels from TX, ON, CA, AB

• One compound exceeded a screening

level = acrolein (max = 3.98 µg/m3 or 0.0017 ppm)

Recommendations

• Additional sampling if requested by

• Note: Environment Canada is currently

monitoring VOCs in Prince George (National Air Pollution Surveillance program)
