Focusing Strategies

  • Eating some sugar and protein throughout (sugar = memory, protein =

stamina)

  • Ex. Nuts and dry fruit
  • Recording classes via LiveScribe Smartpen OR OneNote (FREE)
  • Priming self by getting the overall picture first (vocab, things you’re curious

about, watch youtube videos about it, etc)

  • Removing baseline stress so you have higher capacity before overwhelm

Focusing Strategies

  • Regular tutoring so never get lost in class (falling behind creates exponential

failure) and have accountability

  • Marking where confused in a unit
  • Connect material to your special interest
  • Liking your teacher or boss
  • Outsource or swap what drains you

Accommodations (some you can do, some done for you)

**SET THEM UP EARLY**

  • Time and a Half on Exams
  • Quiet room for exams
  • Make sure many exams not in one day
  • Transfer to better teacher’s classes
  • Remove word limits
  • Eat/chew gum in class
  • Start school day later
  • Remove word limits
  • Tests read out loud to you
  • Textbooks on PDF/read out loud
  • Lighter course load as full time student
  • Note‐Taker for classes
  • Access to a calming room
  • Service or emotional support animals
