FERPA: THE FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT GETTING ACCESS TO THEIR RECORDS FERPA is a Federal law designed to protect the privacy of Educational Records – Academic information cannot be shared with others, including parents and spouses. This includes grades, schedules, classes, college services, and financial information – Parents do not have access to student records unless aFERPA release is signed by thestudent – This can be done via the student’s Flashline account, by the student
