Elanora SHS 2018 Report Card  100 % of Graduating Students achieved their QCE or QCIA.  100% of Graduating Students were offered a tertiary place in the first round of QTAC offers.  17 students graduated from the Elanora SHS Health Pathways program in conjunction with Bluestone Medical.  Implementation of Enrolment Management Plan and largest ever Year 7 enrolment – 210 students.

ACE Program - Overview • ACE – Academic Class of Excellence. • Junior Academy ACE Program – Years 7, 8 and 9 • Program for our academic elite. • Selective Entry Process – students must meet set standards to gain entry. • Academic Extension program focusing on challenging the individual to achieve their best in all of their subjects. • Ascend and SCU Extension Programs commenced in 2016. • Ideal preparation for University and school based University programs delivered in conjunction with Griffith University & Southern Cross University.

ACE Program – How to apply. • To apply for the ACE program, applicants are required to submit the application form and successfully complete the entrance test – register now. • Key criteria for entry into the program  School Reports – Academic, Behaviour, Attendance  Students personal goals  Entrance Test performance  NAPLAN results  There is no fee to apply for in-catchment students

  14. ACE Program - Testing • All applicants must register online for Testing via the Elanora SHS website. (can also be done tonight with assistance from junior leaders). • If applicants do not have access to the internet, registration can be completed via our school office or tonight. • ACE testing will be held on Tuesday March 19 at 3:30pm at Elanora SHS, meet in The Hub. • ACE testing for XCELerate participants will also be held on this day. • The test will be an online General Aptitude Test prepared by ACER that is year level specific. • The testing process will take approximately 1 hour. A light afternoon tea will be provided.

Sports Academy Program - Overview • A clear pathway to a post school Sports Focused career. • Students in the “Junior Academy” Program will be offered a rigorous and extensive Physical Education program and involvement in enriching extracurricular activities. • Students will have opportunities to hear about different career opportunities through guest speakers, coaches, dieticians and personal trainers all with specialist expertise in the sporting industry. • The program is not sport specific but Athlete specific. • Kayaking extension program – 2020. • Interested in a single sex class – record on survey.

Sports Academy Program How to apply. • To apply for the Junior Sports Academy program, applicants are required to submit the application form and successfully complete the practical testing. • Key criteria for entry:  Application Form  Current School Performance  Students personal goals  Practical Testing performance  There is no fee to apply for in-catchment students

Dance Academy Program - Overview • Students will focus on the styles of Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary and Lyrical dance over the year long course. • Movement, performance skills and choreographic skills and terminology will be the focus in each dance genre. • Throughout the year, students will have access to various performance opportunities both within class and for an audience including the Gold Coast Eisteddfod and Elanora State High School’s Dance Night.

  24. Dance Academy Program – How to apply. • To apply for the Junior Dance Academy program, applicants are required to submit the application form and successfully complete the practical testing. Key criteria for entry • Current School Performance • Students personal goals • Practical Testing performance • There is no fee to apply

Dance Academy Program – Testing • All applicants must register online for testing via the Elanora SHS website (can register tonight). • Students must also submit a completed application form – due by Friday April 26 at the office. • Junior Dance Academy screening will be held on Thursday May 2 at 3:30pm at Elanora SHS. • Students will not need to prepare an audition piece. • The audition process will take 1 ½ hours.

Notifications • Offers will be made for places in the 3 excellence programs following the conclusion of the first round of testing. • First Round Offers for ACE, Junior Sports Academy and Junior Dance Academy will commence from Monday May 27. • If places exist in programs following the First Round Offers additional testing will occur in Term 3, 2019.

  29. Scholarships - Overview • The Elanora SHS P&C association provides scholarships for high performing Year 7 students in the areas of :  Academic – must sit ACE Test on March 15  Sports  The Arts  QATSIF Junior & Senior – from Year 8

Scholarships - Overview • Scholarships cover the Elanora SHS Resource Scheme & associated program fees for Year 7 2020 only. • Sport scholarships include the Sports Academy Resource Fee. • Arts scholarships include the Dance Academy Resource Fee. • The scholarships do not cover the cost of optional excursions such as camps.

  31. Scholarships - QATSIF Elanora SHS supports Indigenous students through replicating QATSIF scholarships through the junior school leading into the Queensland Government funded QATSIF Scholarships. Eligibility criteria include attendance, behaviour, effort & academic performance

Scholarships – How to apply • To apply for a scholarship, applicants simply tick the box on the Excellence program application form. • There is no separate testing nor application forms for ESHS scholarships. Key criteria for scholarships • Current School Performance • Students personal goals • Performance in relevant Excellence Program testing

  33. Scholarships – Notifications • Scholarship offers will be made in writing from Monday May 27. • Successful scholarship applicants will be required to accept scholarship offers in writing and then arrange enrolment in Elanora SHS. • Following the enrolment interview credit will be made for the 2020 Resource Scheme and relevant fees.
