Who are we? Derbyshire Learning & Development Consortium was established in 2000 to support Voluntary and Community Sector organisations across Derbyshire to develop and deliver high quality learning and development opportunities for their staff, volunteers, clients and learners.
Objective DLDC provides information, training and support to the Third Sector on learning & development policy, practice and quality assurance to enable them to engage fully with the learning & skills agenda.
What do we do? • Representation • Contract Management • Workforce Development • Tutor Development • Accreditation Centre
What is the Third Sector? • Organisations that are not ‘Private’ or ‘Public’ Sector • Motivated by social, environmental or cultural objectives rather than profit • Reinvest surplus to further those objectives
Community Development • Working with community groups • Delivering learning in the community • Involving your local community • Offering Community Development training • Addressing community issues
Community in Context • Independent Commission on Colleges in their Communities • More Challenges, More Choices • Community Development Foundation • Making Prison Work • Open Public Services
