Northern Corridor of Tennyson Dunes System
The coastal dune environment will be sacrificed in favour of an obsessive, compulsive CCS mission to complete a 3.5m concrete road. Your obsession with a one-size-fits-all concrete road is the stumbling block to community cooperation. There is absolutely no quantitative evidence that ratepayers want an North-South road along the coastal dunes.
WEDGE families prepared to compromise on path design 3 years ago. There is consensus for a narrow, low impact natural path currently being installed in some sections. (Conditional support by Stephen Mullighan)
When West Lakes established in 1970’s, Council Engineers strongly argued against the 40m Set- Back for homes. The CPB names this dune section between Third Ave & Mirani Court as the most endangered and under threat from tidal & storm damage. A 7m clearance and a 3.5m concrete road is environmental vandalism to a real coast park with just 7m of grass beyond the native Tea Tree anchoring the dunes.
