WARP Advisory Committee Background and Role • The idea to form the Advisory Committee came about after our first open house for the WARP. • The project team found that there is a diverse group of residents that live in Westminster and decided the best way to get a cross section that fairly represented Westminster was to form this Advisory Committee. • Made up of Westminster neighbourhood stakeholders (either live, work or own a business in Westminster)

WARP Advisory Committee Background and Role • Expected Time Commitment • 25 – 30 hours of work for the entire project (10-12 months), including: • Attendance at 8-10 in-person evening meetings over the next 10-12 months (approx. 20-25 hours) • Review of various written material every 2 – 3 months (approx. 5-10 hours) • Who makes up the Advisory Committee • Members of the Advisory Committee represent the various values and interests that exists within the neighborhood.

Residential Goal “To encourage primarily low density residential uses in the Westminster neighbourhood but identify those areas in the neighbourhood where medium density development can best be accommodated .” Majority of individuals feel the goal is still relevant today but 37% feel that something should change. 52% of individuals fell that Westminster has fulfilled this goal.

Institutional Goal “ To recognize the importance of institutional uses and ensure that these uses will continue in the neighbourhood.” Majority of individuals feel the goal is still relevant today but 37% feel that something should change. 54% of individuals feel that Westminster has fulfilled this goal.

Commercial Goal “To maintain the viability of the neighbourhood’s commercial areas while minimizing the impacts generated by these areas on surrounding Majority of individuals at 76% feel the goal is still relevant today but 24% feel that something should change. 68% of individuals fell that Westminster has fulfilled this goal.
