Western Hemisphere Presentation

Preparation for your oral presentation is essential. Take a moment and review all that you know about your country. Now ask yourself what does your audience need to learn in order to understand your country’s unique characteristics. As you plan your presentation, be sure to collect the specific details that will help you show how and why the images are important. Remember your slides had less than ten words on them - your presentation notes have no such limitation. In order for you presentation to be informative and easy to follow, it needs include an introduction, specific information to help you add value to each slide and an effective ending.

  • Your presentation should run between 2 and 5 minutes in length.
  • Your presentation notes will receive a grade.

Grade based on the following:

  • ease of use / organization
  • inclusion of all important components (introduction, each theme….)
  • specific details that show why and how the ideas are important

Format: While you do have a great deal of choice in terms of format, your notes need to be clear and concise. Please avoid complete sentences and paragraphs. Instead rely upon bullet points and short phrases to help you remember the most important details. You may use lined paper or note cards, but please only write down the facts and challenging details. Stay away from using sentences and paragraphs, as this will lead to reading rather than presenting and a lower grade for your notes. ** Your presentation notes will be turned in for a grade. **You will not receive full credit if you do not use presentation notes during your presentation
