Myth – All Division I athletes are on a full scholarship. Fact – Added together NCAA scholar athletes receive less than 25% of the total cost of attendance. Myth – Athletic Scholarships are for 4 years. Fact – Athletic scholarships like financial aid are 1 year renewable contracts.

CAMPS AND SHOWCASES

  • Private Camps – Run by outside groups that

will invite college coaches to attend. Usually more expensive. For profit groups that must rent facilities, extensive advertising, pay employees.

  • Institutional Camp – Run by the university.

Less expensive and less exposure. More selective and sometimes invite only.

TRAVEL TEAMS OR HIGH SCHOOL

  • Each sport is different.
  • Each college views things differently.
  • Football is mostly high school.
  • Travel coaches push highest level vs. best fit.
  • Experienced high school coaches can have a

large network of contacts.

  • Travel teams can put you against the best

competition.

  • High school more practice and skill work.

Recruiting Services

Football is a complete waste of money. We delete almost every contact we get from recruiting services. We will pay big services for there lists which are compiled by contacting high school coaches for free. It gives us information to start the process. All you need to provide a coach is film, valid times, transcripts, and SAT’s. High school or travel coaches do not get kids offered. They can get kids looked at. In most cases students and parents can promote themselves to college coaches as well as a recruiting service with help from coaches and counselors. Quality videotape of highlights and games are valuable.
