JOYCE FOUNDATION PROJECTS

In 2007, PCS was one of four organizations to receive funds

from The Joyce Foundation as a part of a $5 million investment in the Maumee River watershed

PCS’s grant was to implement 3 projects that would improve

the quality of the lower end of the Maumee River and of Lake Erie, in terms of both water quality and ecosystem function

These projects are complete and are/will have a direct impact,

but they also represent and demonstrate solutions to problems in urban, industrial areas

CLEAN STREAMS PARTNER AWARD

Marilyn DuFour is an Environmental Specialist for the City of Toledo Department of Public Utilities Division of Environmental Services. She has worked for the City for 16 years including 11 years as an Assistant Naturalist in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry. Marilyn lives in west Toledo with her 17-year-old daughter, Sia. Marilyn joined the Maumee RAP in 1998 as a member of the Ottawa River Action Group. In 2000, she initiated the Ottawa Park Kickoff and a Youth Battle of the Bags for Clean Your Streams day, primarily as an outreach to local youth groups. She continues to serve PCS as the Lead Coordinator for the Ottawa Park (now St Francis) Kickoff and as the Group and Challenge Coordinator for Clean Your Streams Day. Marilyn was a founding member of the Rain Garden Initiative of Toledo-Lucas County and currently serves on their Public Outreach and Education Committee. Marilyn has an incredible passion for improving our environment. She has taught thousands

  • f children and adults as Ottawa Park naturalist, and in her current position through Frogtown

Fair, classroom talks, and presentations. It is because of this passion and dedication to improving our area streams that Marilyn is awarded PCS’s Clean Streams Partner Award.

ELECTION OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Eligibility Eligibility Members of the Board of Directors must be voting members of Partners for Clean

  • Streams. Voting members are defined as individuals donating at least $50/yr to

PCS or businesses/municipalities donating at least $500/yr to PCS. Responsib esponsibility ty Responsibilities of the PCS Board of Directors are as follows, but not limited to: Service of a two year term; Participation in Board meetings every other month, or as called by the President; Maintenance of a voting member status; Assisting the Executive Director in fundraising and program development and implementation; Promote the organization and its efforts; and make overall financial and organization decisions for PCS. Nominations and V Nominations and Voting ting Anyone may nominate someone to serve on the PCS Board of Directors. However,

  • nly members with voting status may vote (see above Eligibility) for the PCS Board of

Directors.
